The French Riviera

The Cote d'Azur. The glitz and glamour and those multi-million dollar yachts. Our trip to the French Riviera started with a low key picnic as part of the French May Day celebrations. We ate pan bagnat on the grass (a local specialty that is basically a very tasty Nicoise salad on a roll). We then drove the coast road and saw the other end of the spectrum with the Ferraris and super yachts of Monte Carlo. Our base was an apartment in Nice, where we could wander round the colourful port, eat our way through the restaurants and battle for a parking spot like the locals.
