Even on a cloudy, rainy weekend, this city has something about it. The history, the stunning Duomo and ancient cathedrals, the art, the piazzas and narrow streets. It is a wonderful place to walk around and soak up the atmosphere (just don't try to drive!). We saw a puppet show in the street, watched artists at work and listened to musicians play. And of course there is the gelato. Our accommodation was in a castle. Yes, a castle. Complete with the sweeping driveway, huge lawn and a garden full of roses and lemon trees. Just like a fairy tale.
