Montenegro

Montenegro is a only small country but it has huge mountains that rise straight up out of the sea. We stayed in Kotor, a UNESCO heritage listed town that touches the water, then grows up the side of the mountain. During the day the town is bustling with people, most of them arriving on cruise ships that dot the bay. At night, we had the place almost to ourselves, feasting on seafood in restaurants on the waters edge and enjoying our spectacular view out across the Bay of Kotor. We went on a boat trip to the blue cave, had our first swim of the European summer and even met another Aussie family travelling through Europe. Fun for everyone.
